Associate of Arts - Visual Journalism

Visual Journalism is photojournalism for the 21st century. The world of communication has become a world where audiences want storytelling brought to them in new ways. The photographer storyteller with multiple skills has the best chance of delivering the story to the audience they want to reach. That is why Brooks Institute has created a new non-traditional program using the name Visual Journalism. The photojournalist of yesterday must today be cross-trained in still cameras, computers and digital video cameras. That way the photographer can deliver a story or project to the traditional print media, to the Web and to the upcoming multi-cable environment.

Bachelor of Arts - Film and Video Production

Teamwork is essential to film production, students share responsibilities as cinematographers, lighting and sound technicians, scriptwriters, and editors to complete a professional-quality project. Each student's portfolio production is treated as a real work situation, in which the student forms a production company and contracts to deliver the film.

Bachelor of Arts - Professional Photography

Brooks Institute operates on a session basis and offers a thirty-six month program of study leading to a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Professional Photography. The carefully structured curriculum has been developed to be responsive to the expanding needs of the photographic and motion picture industry. A continuous dialog with Brooks' alumni and other successful professionals can provide valuable information concerning current trends and potential future developments within the broad spectrum of photographic/filmmaking careers.

Bachelor of Arts - Visual Communication

The Visual Communications program can prepare graphic designers to be capable of creating original artwork with a visual style, design and layout that is appropriate to the project's concept and goals. With the emphasis on digital skills, the program addresses the evolved nature of visual communications to a digital environment and prepares graduates for this rapidly changing field with an up-to-date skill set that will make them readily eligible for employment in a field that is continuously redefining itself.

Brooks Institute's Diploma Program is an alternative for those who desire filmmaking studies only. It is one eight-week session shorter than the Bachelor of Arts Degree Program. A Diploma is awarded upon completion of the filmmaking courses as required for the Bachelor of Arts Degree (minus one elective) plus Science and Mathematics.

Brooks Institute's Diploma Program is an alternative for those who desire photographic studies only. It is one eight-week session shorter than the Bachelor of Arts Degree Program. A Diploma is awarded upon completion of the photographic courses as required for the Bachelor of Arts Degree (minus one elective) plus Science and Mathematics.

Master - Professional Photography

In today's marketplace, many corporate and educational positions require advanced degrees. Brooks Institute provides a Master of Science Degree in Professional Photography. Masters students are introduced to a broad spectrum of disciplines in visual communications including theory, history, fine art, business, science, mass media, psychology and thesis documentation.
